Foundayo (orforglipron) is a newer tablet from Eli Lilly, the maker of Mounjaro. It was authorised by the MHRA in August 2026 and can be taken at any time of day, with or without food.
Both tablets start at a low strength. Your pharmacist then steps the dose up at intervals that suit how you’re responding.

Injections are taken once a week with a thin, short needle. Pens are kept in the fridge before first use, and this route has the longest track record of the four options we offer.
Tablets remove needles altogether. The trade-off is consistency, because a tablet has to be taken every day and a missed morning means a missed dose.
Most side effects affect the gut and settle within a few weeks. They tend to return briefly after each dose increase, then ease again.
Eat smaller meals, stop when full, and reduce greasy foods. Drink water, especially after diarrhoea or vomiting.
Seek urgent help for severe stomach pain spreading to your back, pain under the right ribs, yellowing skin, or swelling in the face or throat.
All four medications are closely monitored (▼). Report side effects via the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.
These medications can delay gastric emptying, increasing risks during anaesthesia. Inform your surgical team if you take a GLP-1 or GIP/GLP-1 medication.
Progress is reviewed at 6 months; to continue treatment, aim for at least a 5% weight loss by then.
