Call or book online for a 20-30 minute weight management appointment. Bring your medicine list and recent blood test results.
Our pharmacist measures height, weight, and BMI, reviews medical history, and checks Wegovy's suitability. Alternatives will be suggested if needed.
If eligible, you receive your pen the same day. You'll learn home injection techniques, and your next review will be scheduled.
Wegovy contains semaglutide, which copies a gut hormone called GLP-1. It slows stomach emptying and reduces appetite signals in the brain.
In the STEP 1 trial, adults on 2.4 mg lost around 15% of their starting body weight over 68 weeks. The placebo group lost close to 2.4%.
For someone weighing 100kg, that is roughly 15kg. Results vary, and the people in that trial also followed a reduced-calorie diet and increased their activity.
Weight loss is slow in the first two months. Most patients notice appetite changes before they notice the scales moving.
We are an independent NHS and private pharmacy in Ashford, serving Surrey patients since 2005. Weight management is one of our busiest clinics.
Your treatment is overseen by our superintendent pharmacist, Dilip Modhvadia (MPharm, GPhC Reg. 2050606), who has over 20 years in community practice.
Consultations are private and unhurried. We do not run a volume model where you fill in a questionnaire and a pen arrives in the post.
Every patient is weighed in person at each review. Dose changes are clinical decisions, not automatic monthly upgrades.
Wegovy is injected once a week, on the same day each week. The dose is increased in steps to limit side effects.

You may be suitable for prescription weight loss injections if you are aged 18 to 74 and meet one of the following criteria:
Lower BMI thresholds apply to South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African, and African Caribbean backgrounds. The thresholds are 27.5 kg/m² or 24.5 kg/m² if there are weight-related issues.
Treatment is unsuitable if pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding. Women must use effective contraception and stop medication two months before pregnancy. Review treatment suitability after 6 months.
Treatment is not prescribed if there’s a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2. Caution is needed for diabetic retinopathy or active pancreatitis.
Inform us if you use insulin, sulfonylureas, or warfarin, or have an eating disorder, for additional checks.
Both are weekly injections and both work on appetite. The main difference is how many hormone pathways each one acts on.

Mounjaro produces larger average weight loss in studies. Wegovy has a longer track record and more published cardiovascular safety data.
Our pharmacist will talk you through both. The right choice depends on your health history, your tolerance and what you want from treatment.
The appointment takes around 20 to 30 minutes. Most of it is conversation rather than tests.
We start with your weight history. What you have tried, what worked for a while, and what caused you to stop.
Your height, weight, waist measurement and blood pressure are recorded. These become your baseline for every later review.
We then go through your medical history, repeat prescriptions, allergies and any family history of thyroid or pancreatic problems.
If treatment is suitable, we explain the side effects in plain terms and show you how to use the pen. You inject the first dose yourself, with the pharmacist watching.
You leave with your pen, a sharps bin and a dated card showing when each dose increase is due.
Most side effects happen in the first few weeks of a new dose and settle as your body adjusts.
Is the most common. Eat smaller meals, stop eating when you feel full and avoid fried or rich food on injection day.
Responds well to extra water, more fibre and daily walking. We can supply a gentle laxative if it persists.
Often improves by sitting upright after eating and leaving three hours before lying down.
In the first month is usually linked to eating much less. Check that you are still getting enough protein and fluid.
Call 111 immediately if you have severe stomach pain that spreads to your back, with or without vomiting. This could indicate pancreatitis. Rapid weight loss increases gallstone risk. Report any pain under your right ribs, yellow skin, or pale stools.
Every consultation and review happens in the pharmacy, so your weight and blood pressure are measured properly rather than self-reported online.
You see the same clinician throughout your course. Nothing gets lost between appointments or repeated back to a new person.
Our superintendent pharmacist has prescribed and reviewed weight management treatment alongside long-term conditions for two decades in Surrey.
If Wegovy is not clinically right for you, we say so and explain why. We would rather lose the sale than treat unsuitably.
Pens are dispensed during your appointment in most cases, so there is no waiting for a courier or a delivery window.
Call us when a side effect is bothering you. You do not have to wait for your next scheduled review to get advice.
The cost of your dose covers everything, including the pen, needles and review. No joining fee and no tie-in period.
We are a five-minute drive from most of the borough, and we deliver
prescriptions free of charge across TW15, TW16, TW17 and TW18.

Signed up with this pharmacy at the start of the week after an awful experience with a different pharmacy, medications were put through and delivered the next day with absolutely no issues, which was unexpected as I'd only just signed up. Came with a paper prescription today and she will deliver tmrw as she needs to order stock but that's fast service. Staff are lovely and polite I highly recommend this pharmacy.Posted on Google![]()
